Indoor Rowing

We always recommend Indoor Rowing to get you started on your journey. It drills good technique for safety and efficiency. Time on the Indoor rower, is also well spent if you are considering converting those skills into a boat.

Think about which session options suits you best below.

Once you have completed a minimum of 60 mins of Indoor coaching, you will be invited to join the Rowing Adventures RowFit community.

  • This taster session is the perfect way to be introduced to the British Rowing Indoor Rowing Technique and give you confidence in your use of the Concept 2 Indoor Rower. It can be either delivered 1:1 at a bespoke time to suit your diary or in a scheduled GROUP session, with an opportunity to meet others.

  • These British Rowing courses are operated by Lymington Rowing Club.

    1 hour session per week, for 5 weeks.

    • Beginner Course

    • 20 mins Technical Warm up,

    This fitness workout is the perfect way to keep fit and refine good indoor rowing technique.

    • Technical warmup

    • 20 mins interval set

    • 20 mins S&C/ Circuit

    You will be invited to join the RowFit community by registering on SPOND after your Try Indoor Rowing or Go Row Course.

Single Sculling

All sessions are offered as 1:1. The Try Rowing Taster is the introductory session, followed by Improver sessions. for consolidation and progression.

Sessions can be either 60 or 90 mins.

Rowers then decide to Explore in Single or Double Sculls and/or move onto Coxed Quads (4 rowers, with two blades each with a cox to steer)

  • The Try Rowing Taster Session is the perfect way to be introduced to rowing a single scull in safe water.

    • Equipment

    • Basic understanding of wind/tide

    • Safety

    • Launching and recovering

    • Balance

    • Rowing Sequence (Recovery Drive) . A reflection of the drills from the Try Indoor Rowing

    • Intro to Manoeuvering using the elements.

    Try Rowing Taster Session gives you the opportunity to get a taste to see if coastal rowing is for you.

  • These sessions consolidate and progress you through the balance and manoeuvring drills to enable you to handle a single scull in more challenging conditions with refined technique.

    You can repeat this session as many times as you need or want to.

Try Crew Rowing

With experience of Indoor Rowing and time on the water in a single scull, it’s time to transfer these skills into a Coxed Quad ((4 rowers, with two blades each with a cox to steer).

Two rowing mentors and a coach/ cox will offer a steady paced, progressive session in safe water.

  • This is a 60 minute sessions held at Lymington Rowing Club. Supported by 3 mentor rowers, you will apply your single sculling skills into practice in a synchronised Coxed Quad Crew boat.

    The Try Crew Rowing Taster Session is the perfect way to see if Crew Rowing is for you. Rowing Adventures will assist you in making contact with your local club for membership information.
